Southside High School
Much has changed since the Lafayette Parish School System built its last high school nearly 50 years ago. With current high schools beyond capacity, the Parish is building a new high school designed to promote engagement, collaboration, and inquiry. Driven by industries in the local economy, the school’s programs focus on career training in Energy, Agriculture and Natural Resources. The design of the three-story building features an atrium that opens to the cafeteria, library, and Career & Technology education classes. A Makerspace is at the heart of the school and provides a hands-on workshop for students to design, create and explore their ideas.
