Highlands High School
Highlands High School represented a unique challenge of completely transforming an existing high school facility, through almost total demolition and reconstruction, while the existing school remained operational on site. As a result, Pfluger worked closely with district officials, campus administrators, and the community to finely-tune a design that was both far-reaching in its vision for updating the entire school, but also practical in how it could be constructed sequentially, as portions of the campus would remain in use. Regular dialogue with campus administrators helped the design team to fully understand their needs and clearly articulate to them the impact of construction on an occupied campus.
