Boerne – Samuel V. Champion High School

Boerne — Samuel V. Champion High School

Overview

BOERNE — SAMUEL V. CHAMPION HIGH SCHOOL maintains a symbiotic and sensitive relationship with its site in the rolling Texas hill country. Buildings were carefully situated to preserve as many existing trees as possible, with views capturing the scenic landscape and providing abundant natural daylight. The innovative water harvesting system, the largest of its kind at any school in Texas, collects both rainwater and the building’s own HVAC condensate. The harvesting system was recognized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality with its top Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.
