Frostwood Elementary School

Frostwood Elementary School

Overview

Frostwood Elementary School is an 800-student replacement school on a small but prominent neighborhood site where trees, traffic, site drainage and community involvement were all critical issues. This site is located in two municipalities; most of the site is in Bunker Hill Village, but the playground area is located in the City of Houston. This was the complete redevelopment of an existing neighborhood elementary school.  One building was saved and the new building was developed in the place of the old school to save trees and minimize site impact.  The school has been transformed into a bright, dynamic learning environment and a source of community pride.
